CFHI flew Dr. Galindo to San Francisco in 2005 to receive intensive training in the use of advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques from Dr. Nezhat, who is the pioneer of, and leading practitioner in, this procedure. The training lasted two days. By acquiring and honing these additional skills, Dr. Galindo has been able to improve the lives of hundreds of patients every year. In conjunction with the life-saving laparoscopic surgical equipment, worth over $60,000 we sent to La Paz with the help of the US Air Force, what this high quality surgery equipment will do is enable doctors like Dr. Galindo, to perform minimally invasive surgeries, and therefore reduce patient complications in post-operative care. |
