Global Health Roundtables

Program overview

CFHI Virtual Roundtables are bimonthly panel events featuring global health experts from 3 – 6 countries. In these 90-minute sessions, CFHI local leaders from around the globe share their perspectives on how health is shaped in different contexts. Participants are encouraged to participate with questions and comments during the sessions. 

Areas of focus could include:

  • Healthcare inequalities in the global context
  • Pandemic preparedness: lessons learned from Covid-19
  • Current health challenges and priorities
  • Intercultural approaches to healthcare deliver

The CFHI Roundtables are designed to complement global health and clinical coursework. Institutions can facilitate access to single or multiple Roundtable sessions for students. Learning Objectives

  • Deepen understanding of the burden of disease in countries
    represented on the panel.
  • Recognize assets, challenges, and barriers to health among
    different regions and countries.
  • Compare similarities and differences in health systems across the
    world.
  • Demonstrate respect for unique cultures, values, and expertise
    presented by different health professionals.
Schedule Overview

The Roundtables take place every first and third Friday of the month at 6:30am PST except January and, July, when there are Roundtables every week. The Roundtables take place between 6:30 – 8:00 am PST. The sessions are led by Dr. Juliana Araya, CFHI Practicum Coordinator.
