Position: Advisory Circle

Dr. Moira Rogers joins the CFHI Advisory Circle after directing CFHI’s programs in Latin America for over 3 years. Her prior work includes serving as Executive Director of Education Abroad at the University of Maryland, College Park and directing the Office of Study Abroad at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She was Coordinator of Foreign Language Programs and Professor of Language and Literature at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia; Assistant Professor of Spanish at Morehouse College in Atlanta; and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). After earning her BA in Higher Education at UBA, she went on to earn an MA in Biblical Studies at Eastern Mennonite and a PhD in Science and Technology Studies at Virginia Tech. Her extensive teaching experience includes courses on Human Rights in Latin America, Migration/Immigration Issues, Spanish for the Medical Professions, and most recently Disabilities in a Global Context and Opportunities and Challenges for Leaders in International Education in the 21st century. 

Moira is passionate about developing and nurturing partnerships between the Global North and the Global South, fostering narratives owned by local communities, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders. As a first generation, Latina professional, she is committed to developing and implementing innovative strategies to expand access to international education for underrepresented students, faculty, and staff.
